Teacher Interviews: How to Get Them and How to Get Hired 2nd edition ReviewAs a recent Education graduate looking for a job in elementary education, I tried this book for information that would give me a leg up over other candidates. I liked it so much that after returning it to the library, I bought a copy.
The book has chapters devoted to cover letters, resumes, portfolios, preparing yourself (your looks) for the interview, and chapters of sample questions--general, elementary, middle school, high school, language arts, science, social studies, mathematics, and special education. The questions also provided "keys to your answer" and ideas for making your answer stand out when compared to those of other candidates.
The questions seemed very thorough, and I loved the ideas presented in the suggested answers. The chapters on preparing for the interview, such as resume writing, cover letters, etc, were a good starting point, but I would look for other books dedicated specifically to those subjects for more information.Teacher Interviews: How to Get Them and How to Get Hired 2nd edition OverviewThis 2nd edition is the complete manual on how to package yourself, market your skills in a highly competitive job market. Dr. Pollock offers advice for both traditional and alternative route teachers that will move them from ordinary to formidable candidates. It's all here along with a step-by-step outline on how to negotiate the entire process from job search to job offer. If you plan to teach, then YOU MUST have this book!
