Get Set for Study in the UK (Get Set for University) ReviewHaving assisted US students to study in the UK for 20 years I have a pretty good idea of what they want to know, and what they need to know - not necessarily the same thing! This excellent little book "Get Set for Study in the UK', written by Tom Barron, for 12 years Director of the International Office at the University of Edinburgh, covers both these areas clearly and succinctly. There are chapters on finding a University and a course in the UK which suits you, applying and getting accepted. It also covers study skills and some advice on using the Internet to get further information as well as a glossary of UK academic terms. All US students intending to study in the UK will benefit from this book - indeed, it should be their first resource - nothing else covers so much ground for so little money.Dr Eileen MacmillanGet Set for Study in the UK (Get Set for University) Overview

Moon Living Abroad in Australia ReviewI found this book to be helpful as a general overview and guide for relocating to Australia. It provides a quick but informative summary of Australian history, culture, language, government and values through the lens of a foreigner relocating. It is the first resource I've read that is exclusively from the perspective of a Seppo (American) relocating to Australia, as the resources available online are either generalized in terms of originating country or provide only disparate information. Having been to Australia before, the book is consistent with my experience while there.
The relocation guide is definitely skewed towards the author's home town of Sydney; the other cities and geographies are more generalized, I would have appreciated more depth in regards to neighborhoods, cost of living, and public transportation for the city of Melbourne.
Nonetheless, the book is a quick and enjoyable read worthwhile for anyone relocating or considering relocating to Oz.Moon Living Abroad in Australia OverviewJim Lane moved to Australia with his family as a child, and knows the ins and outs of living "down under."
