The book focuses on the often misunderstood term "imagination" and its uses in education. The editors of this book compiled interdisciplinary articles defining imagination within each discipline and its educational uses. My students are bristling with ideas after each chapter as to how they can work with other faculty to develop projects that incorporate many of the ideas of this book. I believe this is a must read book in education today, not just for graduate Art Education majors, but also for pre-service teachers, returning teachers, active teachers, administrators, principles, school board members and parents. I highly recommend this book if you want to improve your practice and take a hard look at your lesson planning, student interaction with materials and most importantly focused learning. Imagination is at the heart of most educational pursuits, yet we so often treat it as if it is a nonessential activity.
